At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,
As I finish watching a movie about the biggest oil spill in US history, it dawns on me how much greed and love for money, and power there is. It is a painful truth that is so latent in our society right now. No one cares about anyone but themselves, and if there is a slight chance that going over some else's toes may give you that raise, or job, or shoes (...yeah, really) people actually take that low road. It is sickening and a disease that it's only increasing.
Most people think about it as their livelihood, a way to live you best life for you and your loved ones. What most people don't realize is that the more we think about our own well-being, we are neglecting to think about others.
I am writing this with pain in my heart, as I see how many industries, companies and people just want to work their way up the ladder, no matter what it takes. There is no love for one another. There is no knowledge and understanding of Jesus in their life, and that apparently is OK for most people. Well, I'm not OK with that. I pray that people everywhere may come to the realization that Jesus is the only way, there is no other God, He is the only One.
My only comfort and the reason I wrote this post was to voice -in a small way-
my concern about this epidemic that is increasing as the bible tells us in Matthew 24:
"Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold".
There is so much greed, hate, and people like to call what is wrong good, and good wrong.
If there is no love of God in us, nothing good can happen, because there is nothing that we can give, we ourselves are empty.
Driving these days is like an obstacle-defensive game, your either move or get run over. People are driving recklessly and impatiently, and there goes again that moment that involves one-self desire for everyone to revolve around you, move because you are passing through, stop talking because you are...This "me" society is getting further away from God and that is sadly evident all around us.
We need Jesus in our life plain and simple. People may ask, why are you so sure "your god" is the one? My answer is plain and simple: I have this love inside of me that wasn't there before I met Jesus, I am convicted of my sins and understand that there is absolutely nothing I could do to make me righteous, I know I need my Savior to rescue me everyday from myself.
I'm far from righteous, far from perfect, I have many flaws, but the one thing that keeps me going everyday is my faith in Jesus Christ. People may think that I may be this or that but in the end the one opinion who matters to me is from the One who saved me.
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
A relationship with Jesus is not a religion, there are no set of rules you must follow in order to belong, you see, people are so used to rules and rites, that they expect this to be no different. Wrong. Jesus wants all of you, with every flaw, every sin, every regret, because then and only then He can restore you. The Holy Spirit takes care of that for you. He will convict you of sin and whatever you're doing that is wrong. There is nothing impossible for Jesus. Who can say that? Has anyone else have risen from the dead? Has anyone else have healed the blind? Has anyone else made bones grow? Has anyone else cured incurable sicknesses? Has anyone else have the power to bring you to heaven? Has anyone else loved you to the point of death to save you?
If you answer "no" to any of those questions, then your answer is simple: Jesus Christ is the only way, and the truth and the life, and as He said it:
No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6).
I invite you today to choose life over death, to choose Jesus over this world, because the pleasures of this world end but the rewards in Jesus Christ are eternal.
May you receive the love of Jesus in your life so that you may also live in grace.
For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits--to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God.
