I've been pondering lately about God's grace and love and it's something that continues to amaze me. I can't fathom the level of love that He has for each and every one of us. It makes me want to praise Him even more, and every word I sing now makes even more sense because I know what I'm saying and what it means. It's like I have been let into heaven, and experience a state of constant awe, and unending joy that can't be compared to being there for real, but I'll take it. For now.
I heard this song from Cory Asbury, called "You wont' let go" and I immediately loved what it said:
All of my life before You
You've seen when I rise and when I fall
You're faithful beyond my weakness
Your love will never change, no
Your love will never change
You won't let go, You won't let go
You won't let go, You won't let go
You won't let go of my hand
It reminded me that God is always faithful no matter what. He sees every part of us, everything and there is nothing we can hide from Him. Our thoughts are as clear as day to Him and he knows us so well. Isn't that amazing?
God will never let us go. He will pursue us constantly but is up to us to respond to his love. And trust me his love is better that anything that you can imagine or desire. His love goes beyond common sense. When the world around us tell us we are not good enough, He tells us we are what He wants, we are his delight... It's this constant outpouring of love what makes me come back for more. I want to feel loved and understood. He can do that. Only God can embrace you in your broken state and tell you how much He loves you.
I encourage you to seek God with an open heart, in your broken, neglected and shattered state. He will make you new and will give you the love that will make you feel complete.
Have a blessed week!
Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.
There is power in the name of Jesus, there is power in his name. Only one name can save only one name can break every chain...Jesus.
I've had this song in my mind lately and it speaks so much truth about the power of Jesus. I wanted to write about it because I think its important to understand that you can trust in Him completely. Nothing is impossible for Jesus.
There is a great need for hope in this world and this can be safely found in Jesus. You don't have anything to lose by trying but everything to gain and, trust me it will change your life and the way that you see things forever. I'm not talking about religiosity or traditions, I'm talking about a true relationship with Jesus that will give you purpose and love beyond what you can imagine.
God is always waiting on us to reach out to Him. He doesn't want anything forced, that's not the point. He wants us completely and desperately but will never force us. Isn't that amazing? The creator of all, God Almighty wants us. He want us to have a relationship with him, so that we may find refuge, counsel, hope and salvation through Jesus.
There are no things in this world that can give you this hope and love. None. But once you have a taste of the love that God has to offer, you will fall to your knees in praise.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I've been debating about the topic to write about for a couple of weeks now and I have decided to settle on grace.
Grace is such a common word used nowadays from t-shirts to songs. And these probably don't relate to its real meaning.
Grace as found in the dictionary is:
1. simple elegance or refinement of movement.
2. (in Christian belief) the free and unmerited favor of God, as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings.
Notice I highlighted the phrase FREE AND UNMERITED FAVOR OF GOD. This alone can be a source of all kind of explanations but what it truly means is that God, regardless of our sin can forgive us if we repent. Ouch. Yes, we have to ask for forgiveness for our sins or there cannot be grace to be granted.
Grace has already been given to us through Jesus' sacrifice that took the place of our punishment, and He did that regardless of who we were or what we did. Even before we accept his salvation he took it upon himself to save us. Isn't that the greatest love of all? He believes that we will accept his salvation even before we know it. And many will.
Grace is not a free pass to do whatever we want just because we feel like it. Many try to use this kind of thought and continue to live their lives as if there are endless opportunities to be granted grace. But grace has a time limit.
As loving and merciful as God is, He can only put up with our rebellions for so long. Each time we are forgiven and received God's grace, it is a chance for us to turn closer to God. And when God sees that even after a number of opportunities there is no turning towards Him, then He justly decides that maybe we don't need him and the loving gift of grace stops.
God is more than patient and is giving us plenty of time to choose him. Think about our whole life? Yes, we have this time to choose him and to live for him. This is our training time, and it's best if we can start as soon as possible. There is never a right time but the the time is today. Don't dwell in the past and move on to a glorious future where the fullness of God will fill your every pore and breath. Forgiveness is just words away.
This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Romans 3:22-24 describes perfectly how grace should work. None of us is perfect nor will ever be, therefore we are all in need of grace and this one comes through accepting and believing that Jesus died in our place so that we may be saved through God's grace.
This opportunity has been given to us so that we can receive forgiveness for our sins and may live with Jesus for eternity. What a marvelous gift!
Just imagine this judge in front of you, telling you about all the things that you have done wrong and condemning you to your sentence (that you deserve for doing wrong) but then instead of receiving this guilty sentence, there comes an advocate (Jesus) in your defense saying that all debt has been paid for you, therefore you can now go free. That is some kind of gift, right? That is exactly what we get when we believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. He paid our debt when he died on the cross for us, and after he rose from the dead He can grant eternal life because he defeated death, and after ascending to the right hand of God He can give us eternal life because He is God.
“He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.”When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
There is so much love in this passage alone and when we get to know more about Jesus there is no way that you are not going to fall in love with our Savior. I talk from experience. Once I read the bible and started to discover for myself how glorious, wonderful, loving and amazing God's love is for us, I couldn't go back to my old way of thinking, there is no way. And everyday I'm thankful to God for giving me the opportunity to choose him, to listen and to continue now to persevere in the faith.
And that is another amazing thing about God that most people don't understand. He doesn't go around and twists your arm to get you to believe in him, or tries to give you all the things that you desire so that maybe you'll like him a little bit. He gives us the chance to choose. Isn't that great or what? We can choose to believe or not.
We have been given this amazing opportunity to have a relationship with our God, our Father in heaven , our Creator, and in return we may live with him forever. I choose this a million times yes.
God wants us. One hundred percent us. And God only requires that you believe in his Son that died in your place so that you may also live with him forever.
Receive the gift of grace today and be ready to get to know your Creator and Father up close and personal. Your life will never be the same. It will be awesome!
