While I have been listening to many stories in the news, entertainment industry and other sources I can't stop thinking that the reason that there are so many people doing the wrong things, making the wrong choices and feeling hopeless is the lack of God in their lives. There is simply no moral compass. Jesus is our example and guide to live a good life according to God's will.
By now you may think, there she goes with her Jesus talk. But this is not my "Jesus talk" it is the talk that we should all be talking about because there is a very profound and real struggle in the world with unhappiness -even from people who may seem to have it all- acceptance -even though the world itself seems to proclaim that they are all for acceptance and understanding and unity- all these things may be good but they haven't been good enough to get rid of all these bad things happening around us every day. There needs to be a true revelation of Jesus Christ in our lives in order for us to change our present train of thoughts. Only by truly knowing Jesus we can have a renewal in our life. There is no magic trick or empty promise, Jesus will set you free if you really look for him with a humble and tender heart.
This is not a self-righteous-I-have-the-solution-to-all rant, but a wake up call that I've been feeling to give for some time now, that I can't possible keep quiet.
The real fact is that the lack of faith in Jesus Christ is robbing the world of the joy and happiness that can't be found in material things or ignoring the fact that God is real and He is waiting to listen, help and love you. Always. No matter what.
Jesus was sent to save us, to give us peace, happiness and salvation, but most of all redemption through his death, so that we, ourselves don't die in our sins.
The bible is very clear about our salvation and this one comes only through faith in Jesus Christ. No other way to get to heaven. The bible is the only book that has been able to change a sinful man into a God fearing righteous man, not by mere words in a book but by the Living Word written in the bible. JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE and no one comes to the Father (God) except through Him. (John 14:6)
James 2:10 resumes our nature and our need for a savior:
For whosoever shall keep the whole law and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
There is no way that we can keep the ten commandments to save our life! There is not one righteous man on earth that is able to save himself or others since we all share the same sinful nature. There is no way to gain your pass to heaven by good deeds -even though these are good to do and show that we care for others- God knew that we wouldn't be able to keep the whole law and decided to send his Only Son, Jesus to redeem us and take away the punishment for our sin. There is no special thing that you have to do or offer to God to receive this but accept the truth that Jesus was sent to die for you, in place of you, taking the punishment upon himself and releasing your from any sentence. How?
First of all accept that you are a sinner and need to repent from it, ask for forgiveness and believe in your heart that:
1. Jesus is the Son of God
2. Sent to earth to die for you
3. That He rose from the dead on the 3rd day
4. He went back to Heaven where He is sitting at the right hand of God.
You can learn about Jesus' love for you by reading all that He has done for you through the bible and mostly from the 4 evangelists: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Start with the book of John and you will see what I'm talking about. Once you read by yourself, you will understand the kind of perfect love He offers and you will feel whole and with a purpose.
The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God children
God's love has no parallel, no other love bigger than His. His joy fills you up and brings you hope even in trying times and you don't feel alone anymore because He is always with you. There is no way to describe the happiness that God brings into your life until you experience it yourself. People can talk about their experience and that will mean nothing to you. God wants a personal relationship with you.
I felt exactly that love after I started reading the bible 5 years ago. I never understood who Jesus was until I read what He did for me and for you in that cross. I am eternally grateful for his sacrifice for me. He brings me joy when there's none around and hope when there's none around. He is my rock whom I lean unto, He doesn't judge me but renews my soul everyday.
I wish for everyone to have this kind of love and hope in their lives because I know it will make a difference in it.
Just knowing that the Almighty Creator is your Father that loves you and wants to give you all that He has while offering you eternal life with him, it makes me ask:
Who would refuse such an amazing offer?
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life
And that's the other cool part about God. He is not demanding your unwilling love by force, but He is giving us a choice. Just knowing that our human nature is fallible (not perfect) makes you wonder, how can we know what's good for us? how do we choose? based on what? And why don't we choose God? What is stopping us?
I invite you today to don't deny yourself true freedom all for the sake of your pride.
Your life will never be the same. It will have meaning and purpose. You will feel full and loved. And no matter what's happening around you, those things will not define you, God defines who you are and his concept of you is greater than of any man.
How can you know that your problem is gonna turn out OK? How can you be sure that what comes ahead is better than your current situation?
God led me to this scripture:
I will hope continually and will yet praise Thee more and more.
Praise God in trying times to bring forth the blessing. Our faith get strengthen by trials and problems. God wants us. He loves us. He will teach us just like any good father would to his children. Take heed and listen. God will make wonders with us.
It may seem counterproductive and right out wrong if you forgive someone -all in good faith- but even after this kind gesture of yours, the other person doesn't forgive you. Well, let me say this right now: It's OK.
I remember talking to one of my daughters about this very subject. I told her that we forgive not because we want to be forgiven but because we want to be free. Free from what? Free from the burden of carrying a grudge, fear, rage or hate towards that person; because in time all these feelings build up and create this invisible cage, where we are not only prisoners in it but unable to get ourselves out.
There are so many bible verses that talk about this subject and one may think it's an overrated subject. Either your forgive and move on or forgive and still hold the other person accountable for not asking for forgiveness. In this case FORGIVENESS IS NOT A TWO WAY STREET. It's a personal choice.
Take this bible verse for example:
Writes about beauty in the little things around us and highlights of living a christian life.
