That leads unto life.
The bible verse from Matthew 7:13-14 has given me the right perspective for the times we are living in today..
When people are looking to fulfill their own selfish desires regardless of what that means for their eternal life, they forget they are entering the wide, easy way of life. When we get away from God, everything around us changes as well. People talk about anything but God because it's inconvenient to their purposes. God is an obstacle -people think- that trunks their dreams.
Quite the opposite! God is the one who brings you peace and purpose. There is a freedom knowing that we were created with a divine purpose.
With every step, every situation or struggle that we live, there's an opportunity to learn and grow from there. God wants us to be better for him, and this takes time, effort and choice.
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1 John 2:15-17
It is very easy to just enjoy the here and now without thinking about tomorrow. I like to think of it as a measure of how I am living my life.
Do I want to follow the majority -even though they may be misled- to avoid feeling left out, or is it better to stand out -literally- from the crowd and do what God has planned for me?
Do I want to give my back to God, the creator of all? Take it from Job 38 when God asks him where was he when he founded the earth?
Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
I don't think so.
The odds are not good for those who choose to go against him.
It's all your choice. And what an important one!
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
